Three actions: Support WA immigrant communities, contact Senators about upcoming budget fight, and get your posters for Labor Day actions

Official Daily Actions for Friday, August 29, 2025

There are three official daily actions for today:

1. Sign up for a community education session on Immigrant Data Sharing run by Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) Tuesday, September 2. Attendees will learn more about data sharing practices by Washington state agencies and what we can do to take action and protect immigrant data. Sign up here for the virtual session: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/QtbUqhRvRI6dLAYlmxDLiw?

According to recent investigative reporting by King 5 news, the WA state Department of Licensing shared data with ICE. While this practice has recently ceased, advocates say much more transparency is needed from state agencies about how data is being used and shared in immigration enforcement activities.

2. From Indivisible National: call your Senators now to tell them to push Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer to stand up against Republican demands in the coming fight over a funding bill to prevent a government shutdown. Federal Government funding runs out on September 30, which means a huge push to pass a funding bill. The Republicans need Democratic votes to pass a funding bill this time, which means that Democrats have the power to shape government funding and stop cuts. We need to tell our senators that they must push Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer to fight back and not give a single Democrat vote to further Republican cuts.

Senator Maria Cantwell: 202-224-3441 / 206-220-6400
