The 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Monday killed thousands and wiped out large swaths of infrastructure in Turkey and Syria. Relief efforts are underway and every dollar helps as refugees and victims search for food, shelter, and medical care in the aftermath.

Local organizations are collecting donations to do their part. The Turkish American association in Bellevue and the Salaam Cultural Museum in Seattle are combining efforts to get monetary and in-kind donations to Turkey. They are also accepting donations of blankets, clothing, sleeping bags and other items. If you’re interested in donating items in-kind, contact [email protected] or [email protected] and they will direct you to a collection location.
