Thank you to WA Voting Justice for bringing this bill to our attention!
There is a hearing at 1:30pm today for Senate Bill 5112, which will expand voting rights in Washington by making it easier for the secretary of state to automatically register voters if they have proved their citizenship and residence to another government agency: for example, when getting an enhanced driver’s license.
The bill would also make it easier for voters who have finished serving their felony sentence to be automatically added back to the voter rolls, and make it harder to challenge and remove voters from the rolls.
