On Friday, August 12th, the House of Representatives passed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022, a sweeping bill that would reduce the cost of prescription drugs and pour billions of dollars into the effort to slow global warming! On Tuesday, August 16th, President Biden signed the bill into law, a significant step toward fulfilling his campaign promises on climate change, healthcare, and the American economy.
The IRA has come with the added benefit of mobilizing and energizing Democrats across the nation. We need to build on this momentum if we wish to continue our fight past the midterm elections this year, where Republicans have a real chance of taking control of congress. To do so, on Monday, August 22nd, the Indivisible team is phone banking for Give No Ground GA Senate Candidate, Raphael Warnock. Securing Senator Warnock’s seat is necessary to preserve Democrats’ hold in the Senate.
