With the effects of the ultra-conservative Supreme Court’s horrifying and far-reaching term still reverberating across the country, voters are looking for a reason why they should even turn out to vote in November, saying nothing of voting for Democrats who were unable to protect legal access to an abortion across the country.
Democrats have a real chance to hold onto the House and the Senate if they can convince voters that they really understand how angry and afraid we all are. However, that means that our Senators and the Democratic Party’s candidates for the House and Senate need to start making a big (but entirely achievable) promise:
“Give us the House and two more senators, and we will make Roe law in January 2023.”
Unfortunately, our Senators have not gotten the message yet. Staffers for our Senators have said that neither has taken a public stance on the issue.
This is not good enough. Today, let’s CALL (or email, but preferably call) our Senators and tell them to abolish the filibuster to save abortion rights.
