This year Seattle Indivisible has participated in a nationwide GOTV drive lead by VoteFWD and SwingLeft to write over 10 million letters to swing state voters reminding them to vote. Locally, Seattle Indivisible volunteers have contributed almost 12,000 of those letters!
But these letters are only effective if they are mailed THIS Saturday October 17 – no earlier and no later. This is the date VoteFWD has determined is the optimal date to mail out these letters, and takes into account the USPS slowdown – you can read more about the choice and the data here: https://blog.votefwd.org/article/14-the-official-mail-date-is-now-saturday-10-17
ACTION: Finish and send your letters on the correct date – 10/17 – and get the word out
If you have a printer and have time to write a few more letters:
1. Go to votefwd.org/instructions and follow the instructions to write letters. If you have trouble downloading letters, email us at [email protected] and we will send you a pdf instead
3. Email [email protected] to let Seattle Indivisible know how many letters you completed, so we can add it to our tally.
If you are done writing letters:
1. Put a reminder in your calendar and make a plan to put your letters in the mail this Saturday. If you are mailing more than 100 letters, we recommend taking it to the post office. You can read more mailing tips here: https://blog.votefwd.org/article/14-the-official-mail-date-is-now-saturday-10-17
2. Remind your friends who are holding on to letters to do the same
3. Send us pictures and video of you dropping your letters* in the mail at [email protected], or tweet @SEAindivisible #thebigsend
*If you are planning on delivering your letters to the Broadway Capitol Hill post office and are interested in being filmed or briefly interviewed, please also get in touch with us at [email protected].
Thank you again to all of you who have participated in both our letter writing and our postcarding campaigns! Let’s ship this thing.
