Today the Senate will vote on whether to confirm Wendy Vitter to a permanent judgeship on the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Vitter is a hard-right ideologue who, if given the power of a lifetime appointment, will threaten the rights of women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community.
She has refused to acknowledge that the decision in Brown v. Board of Education, which started the desegregation of schools, was correct. She has given speeches against abortion and contraception. What’s more, the American Bar Association has rated her “not qualified” to serve on the D.C. Circuit. Tell your Senators to vote against her, and do whatever they can to keep her out of this appointment.
