OFFICIAL ACTION for Friday, September 7
This week we are doing a marathon of calls and actions to stop the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. This is an emergency, not just because it will tip the Supreme Court conservative, but also because a man who faces legal troubles (Trump) is about to be allowed to appoint his own judge.
Today, call our Senators, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, to thank them for their decisions to vote NO on the Kavanaugh nomination. Patty Murray has been a leader on this issue pretty much from the start, and Maria Cantwell only just announced her opposition on Thursday, but we should take the time to thank them both.

Action 2: Get Friends to call their Senators
Do you know a resident of Alaska, Maine, West Virginia, North Dakota, Indiana, Florida, or Arizona? Their Senators need to hear from them! Ask them to call their Senators and demand they VOTE NO on Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Here’s a script you can paste into a Facebook post, email or text message to your friends.

Last month Seattle Clinic Defense was met with a nasty surprise: Patriot Prayer and Proud Boys, two alt-right “western chauvinist” (i.e.: sexist, racist thugs) groups showed up to intimidate pro-choice activists out of our continued presence to ensure that anti-choice demonstrators can’t harass patients and staff.
Joey Gibson, failed senate candidate and Patriot Prayer leader threatened to turn the scene outside of Planned Parenthood into a “circus” when he confronted clinic defenders last month. We need everyone out to say no to anti-choice intimidation, and we won’t go back to the days of clinic blockades and violence like those conducted by Operation Rescue.
We aim to provide a peaceful, calm, pro-choice presence and the clinic will be open during the time of the defense. Please wear bright pink and bring bold, colorful signs that show that we stand with Planned Parenthood!
