OFFICIAL DAILY ACTION FOR Tuesday, May 26th!!
From our friends at the Gender Justice League:
Today’s action focuses on protecting Trans lives, supporting our local community, and pushing back against two dangerous federal moves targeting Trans people. These actions come from community partners working directly with survivors and frontline organizers here in Washington.
Please take a few minutes today to raise your voice.
Tell Congress to Oppose H.R. 2616 (“Don’t Say Trans” Bill):
Congress is considering H.R. 2616, a bill that would:
- Force schools to out Trans students to their guardians
- Ban discussion of gender identity in K–8 classrooms
- Silence teachers and restrict supportive environments for LGBTQ+ youth
This bill is part of a national wave of legislation targeting Trans kids. Washington students are not immune — federal policy affects every state.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal: 202-225-3106 / 206-674-0040
Rep. Adam Smith: 202-225-8901 / 425-793-5180
Submit a Public Comment to Protect Trans Access to Housing
At a time when gas prices are increasing and housing costs are on the rise, the current administration is yet again setting its sights on gutting protections for our trans and intersex community. They are looking to remove critical protections meant to ensure the safety of any trans person in need of Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) funded programs – especially housing and domestic violence housing shelters.

Local Context: Our Community Is Hurting
Seattle’s Trans community is grieving the recent killing of Juniper Blessing, a 19‑year‑old Trans woman and UW student. Hundreds gathered at a vigil organized by community groups, including Gender Justice League and UW Trans Collective.
If you or someone you know needs support, local organizations like Gender Justice League’s Community Security Program are available.
