OFFICIAL DAILY ACTION FOR Tuesday, July 29, 2025
Stop the 2025 HUD NOFO*!
This year, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will likely try to reduce or eliminate Continuum of Care (COC) funding for proven and effective approaches like housing first as well as programs that focus on racial equity, serving immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, and more.
The King County region gets a LOT (about $66 million annually) of COC funds to pay for housing and other essential resources for people experiencing homelessness. Losing some or all of that could seriously compromise our ability to house people.
Please take & share this action from the National Alliance to End Homelessness to urge members of congress to stop HUD from re-issuing the 2025 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).
No Federal Cuts to Housing.
Please also take & share this action from National Low Income Housing Coalition to urge congress to continue HUD’s housing investments in 2026.
The House Appropriations Committee proposed over $900 million in HUD cuts in 2026. Although they rejected many of the Trump administration’s worst proposed cuts, we still need to fight for sustained and increased funding for affordable housing, homelessness services, and more.
