Memorial Day is a time for reflection, gratitude, and commitment to those who have sacrificed for our freedoms. Here in the Seattle area, hundreds of veterans are either unsheltered or in unknown, potentially unstable living conditions. Today, as we gather to honor the brave people who have served our country, let’s make a commitment to support local veterans who lack stable homes.
You can donate directly to Seattle Stand Down, a volunteer-run organization dedicated to assisting military veterans and their families in every aspect of their transition from military to civilian life; whether they just became a veteran or have been one for a long time.
The Seattle Stand Down provides a place where veterans can have “one stop” access to various community and Veterans Affairs social services, focusing primarily on those veterans and families that are either homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless.
