Official Daily Action for Friday, April 19
As soon as today, the U.S. House may vote on separate military aid packages for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. We cannot in good conscience support the military aid to Israel which includes more of the offensive weapons they have been using to kill well over 30,000 people.
There are Democrats in the House who oppose funding Israel’s war in Gaza but may still want support Ukraine and Taiwan, and even still support Israel’s ability to defend itself with systems like the Iron Dome. Because the packages are now separate, we have an opportunity to vote down the Israeli aid bill that includes billions for offensive weapons.
Please call your congressperson – especially if you are in Rep. Smith’s district, as he recently indicated support for the aid.
