“Last weekend, Washington Liquor and Cannabis Control Board (LCB) officers inspected 4 prominent Seattle gay bars.
“Firsthand accounts indicate that LCB, police, and fire officers entered bars and cited patrons for ‘lewd conduct’ violations including an exposed nipple and a jock strap. LCB inspections are routine; intimidating patrons is not.”
Calls to action in response to this incident:
- Current Washington law prohibits nudity in establishments where alcohol is sold, contributing to the overpolicing of strippers, sex workers, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people. Let’s voice our support for SB 6105/HB 2036 which will change this law.
