The Washington State legislature is back in session as of Monday morning! They have 60 days to introduce, debate, vote, and pass as much progressive legislation as possible, and it’s incumbent upon us, their constituents, to tell them exactly what we expect from them.
Today we have two tasks for you:
- Learn who your state legislators are, and introduce yourself to them.
- Register your support for two bills that could make a real difference in the lives of working families across our state.
Meet your legislators
- Go here: https://app.leg.wa.gov/districtfinder/
- Type in your address and click “Find My District”
- Click on the names of your state Representatives and Senator, and send them an email via a web form. You can choose to send copies of the same email to all three legislators at once. See below for a sample email.

Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I’m a constituent of yours in {CITY, ZIP}. I know that the state legislative session is incredibly short, but I’m hoping that you can convince your colleagues to accomplish meaningful, progressive change for every resident of Washington State in the next two months.
I’m counting on you to help solve the affordable housing crisis, the climate crisis, and to make our state a fairer and more equitable place for everyone.
