The following action is adapted from the WA Coalition for Police Accountability (WCPA):
All of the WCPA priority bills started in the House of Representatives and must be passed off the House floor by this Wednesday, March 8.
HB 1579, creating an Office of Independent Prosecutor was passed Saturday, which is great news. It was a close vote, and signals work ahead to get it through the Senate.
Let’s keep up the pressure!
There is still time to let your state representative know that you support these bills and want them to send them over to their Senate colleagues. You can call them, email them, or click the below bill links and leave a comment, which will alert your representatives. Or all of the above!
