PubliCola on Monday reported that Councilmember Tammy Morales has introduced legislation that would bar anti-abortion activists that run so-called ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ from engaging in false advertising to get vulnerable, pregnant people in the door. As Planned Parenthood describes it, these centers “scare, shame, or pressure you out of getting an abortion, and…tell lies about abortion, birth control, and sexual health.”
Many cities and states across the country have instituted similar restrictions on crisis pregnancy centers, and it’s only good, common sense that Seattle should follow suit. Let’s tell our Councilmembers to support Councilmember Morales’s legislation today.

Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I live in {ZIP CODE}. I am writing to urge my Councilmembers to support CM Morales’s legislation to prevent anti-abortion ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ from lying quite so much to vulnerable pregnant people. This is a good step forward for Seattle’s support of every pregnant person’s right to control their own body.
