We in Seattle have the privilege of living right next to a swing district, the 8th, where our efforts can make a real difference in the upcoming election. Rep. Kim Schrier is the incumbent Democrat, but it is going to take all hands on deck to keep her seat.
To that end, the Kim Schrier Campaign is kicking off their field season this weekend on Saturday, June 4 with a community canvassing event in Issaquah! The day will begin with speeches from prominent local politicos followed by canvassing.
Canvassing can feel daunting if you’ve never done it before, but it’s surprisingly easy and fun, and is the most effective method of voter turnout!

If you’ve never canvassed before, don’t worry! The organizers will be training first-timers (and anyone who’s rusty). If you don’t have anyone to go with and are worried about canvassing alone, don’t worry! There are usually other people looking for a partner and the organizers will help to pair people off.
