Official Daily Action for Monday, April 11, 2022:
Seattle Indivisible strongly supports the Biden Administration’s plan to revoke the cruel and unlawful Title 42 policy, first adopted by the Trump Administration. Ending Title 42 is a necessary step towards returning to regular order at the border, so that migrants can request asylum according to laws already passed by Congress.
Unfortunately, there is currently a bipartisan effort led by Senator Lankford and Senator Sinema to hold COVID money hostage. They demand we keep Title 42 in place or they will vote against much needed COVID money.
We expect our Senators to oppose any amendment to the COVID-19 relief bill that may prevent the Biden administration from ending Title 42 as planned.
The White House has announced a plan, with the capacity and resources, to manage migration, keep families together and ensure an orderly process at the border.
Action: Urge Senators to vote NO on any amendment to the COVID-19 relief bill that prevents the Administration from ending Title 42.

Script:
My name is [NAME], and I live in Seattle, [ZIP CODE]. I am writing to urge Senator [NAME] to oppose any amendment to the COVID-19 relief bill that blocks access to asylum at the border or otherwise prevents the administration from ending Title 42. This proposed amendment flies in the face of science and ties the hands of the CDC. It would force the CDC and DHS to keep border expulsions in place and contradict the CDC’s scientific analysis which found that the expulsion policy is not necessary to protect public health. Please tell Senator [NAME] to vote NO on any amendment to the COVID-19 relief bill that blocks the Administration from ending Title 42.
