Official Daily Action for Tuesday, November 15, 2022
Last Tuesday, a student at Ingraham High School was shot and killed. A week later, on Monday November 14th, students from Seattle’s school district staged a walkout and rally at City Hall, calling on officials to address gun violence. The walkout was organized by the Seattle Student Union and demands are clear: increase mental health resources in schools. Today’s daily action is to call your City Council member to support the demands of the Seattle Student Union.

Hello, my name is NAME and I’m a constituent in District [NUMBER]. I’m calling today to support the demands of the Seattle school student-led walkout. Gun violence is a public health issue that has been plaguing our schools for far too long. We need elected officials to listen to the community and act. I urge you to listen to demands of the rally that happened outside City Hall on Monday and allocate funding for mental health support in our schools.
