Official Daily Action for Tuesday, November 1, 2022
Mayor Bruce Harrell’s administration continues to levy sweep after sweep after sweep, violently uprooting communities of folks that are already under-privileged and under-resourced. The pace of sweeps has not slowed down; just last week there were at least seven sweeps within Seattle. Make no mistake, sweeps destroy people’s’ shelter and what little property they have, while offering no usable resources whatsoever. Today’s daily action, from Stop the Sweeps Seattle, is to sign on to an open letter to the City Council, urging that they fund real services and end the sweeps immediately.
ACTION: Tell City Council: Services NOT Sweeps!
