This has been a disappointing elections week for progressives. We saw several strong, qualified progressive candidates lose to conservative, business-as-usual competitors. It’s hard not to see this week as a warning of what to expect in the midterms.
After losses like these it’s easy to despair – but one way to cope with that feeling is to do something about it.
Action: Make a plan for how you’ll contribute to a progressive victory in the midterms – and if you can, get started now.
Here are some things you can do right now to get involved:
Join our Election Action Meetings – we choose a different elections-related action every month, such as letter-writing or phone-banking, and gather on Zoom to help everyone get started and then do the work together. The next meeting will be a little different since we’re approaching the midterms: we’re having a brainstorming session about which tools and which campaigns to put our energy into.
