Official Daily Action for Tuesday, November 16th, 2021
Today’s daily action is adapted from Washington’s Paramount Duty, a grassroots organization fighting for advocating for education funding in Washington state. Last Friday, public schools in Seattle, Bellevue, and Kent school districts were closed due to a staffing shortage. Last month, Seattle Public Schools slashed 142 bus routes, because of a national bus driver shortage and because some drivers are declining the state-mandated COVID-19 vaccine. Teacher and driver shortages have long been a problem, and the issue has worsened during the pandemic. Today, we write to Governor Inslee and the state legislature to urge them to provide the funding needed to meet all the needs of our teachers and students.
