With 100 days until the election, Seattle Indivisible volunteers have now written over 3,000 “Get Out the Vote” letters to critical red-to-blue swing state voters, through the SwingLeft/VoteForward Letter Writing Program! These letters have been field-tested to improve turnout and could tip the balance of the race to the Senate and the White House.
OUR ACTION TODAY: Sign up and join us for a letter-writing party this summer.
Write Letters to Swing State Voters on Zoom with Seattle Indivisible:
Tue, Jul 28, 5:30pm–7:00pm
Tue, Aug 11, 5:30pm–7:00pm
Tue, Aug 25, 5:30pm–7:00pm
RSVP to any of the above times here: https://www.mobilize.us/swingleft/event/282276/
During the video hangout, we will all introduce ourselves and we will explain the SwingLeft process to those who are unfamiliar! We will then hang out as a community as we write.
To prepare for the party, you will need Forever stamps (you can order from USPS.com) and standard letter-sized envelopes. If you have your own printer, you will need to download and print your letters using the following instructions: https://swingleft.org/p/about-swing-left-letter-writing. If you DON’T have access to a printer, we also have pre-printed letters we can send to you – email us at [email protected] to request them or to ask us for help!
When your letters are finished DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE MAIL. Store them safely in your house and mark your calendar to put them in the mail on October 27, 2020! That’s one week before the general election, the optimal time for voters to receive this reminder.
Together we can help SwingLeft and VoteForward with their huge new goal of ten *million* letters! You can watch their progress here: https://votefwd.org/bigsend
Alternative Action: Write and store 20 letters on your own
If you can’t join us for the party or would prefer to write on your own time, you can either go straight to votefwd.org and start downloading letters yourself, OR send an email to [email protected] and we will guide you through the process (whether or not you have a printer!).
When you finish your 20 letters, remember to email [email protected] to let us know so we can add it to the volunteer count!
