The biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions in our state is from the transportation sector, but there’s a bill making its way through the state legislature that would help to make vehicle emissions less polluting by establishing a so-called ‘Clean Fuels’ program, similar to those already successfully underway in California, Oregon, and British Columbia. Clearly, this isn’t a cure-all, and we need to push for the elimination of all fossil fuel burning, but cleaning up our transportation sector can help reducing CO2 emissions in Washington almost immediately.
There are seven bills scheduled for a vote in the Senate Environment, Energy & Technology Committee meeting on Tuesday, February 25, and they’re all worth supporting. But since the most contentious—and arguably most impactful—is HB 1110, ‘Clean Fuels,’ we’re going to ask you to tell your state Senator to support HB 1110 in particular.
Today’s Action: Tell the State Senate to Support HB 1110
Note: the Senate’s committee hearing begins on February 25 at 10:00 AM, so please do this action as soon as possible.

Hi, I live in {CITY, ZIP}. We need to take immediate action in Washington State to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Please ask your colleagues on the Senate Environment, Energy & Technology Committee to support all the bills being voted on in Tuesday’s Executive Session, but especially HB 1110, Clean Fuels, which would lower the carbon intensity of vehicle fuels and therefore reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our state. Thank you.
