Last night Republicans confirmed another arch-conservative justice to the Supreme Court, rushing her through despite it being just a week before the election, and pushing aside the urgent need to negotiate COVID relief in favor of raw political power.
This fight is NOT over. If we take back the Senate, we can take steps to mitigate the damage Republican court-packing has done to our democracy.
ACTION: Commit to another GOTV action in a state with a competitive Senate race.
These are the top Senate toss-ups according to FiveThirtyEight, in order from most to least competitive: IA, GA (Perdue-Ossoff), NC, ME, MT, GA (special election), KS, SC, AZ, and AK.
Pick an action in one of the above states based on our recommendations below:
1) Sign up to Phone Bank with Seattle Indivisible this Sunday:
ATTEND our last Seattle Indivisible Reclaim Our Vote Phone Bank, this Sunday 11/1 from 3:00 – 5:00pm (you can stay as long as you’d like). We will be calling voters of color in states where their vote is suppressed. We will pick the state based on the urgent priority of the day, but once you are trained you can have your pick of many competitive Senate states. Sign up here, and please watch the training video in your confirmation email: http://bit.ly/3lpvihX
2) Options to Call or Text On Your Own:
-CALL 25+ more voters in voter-suppression states with Reclaim Our Vote (once you get oriented with their training materials, you can call on your own time): https://actionnetwork.org/forms/reclaim-our-vote-signup
And after you call, don’t forget to fill out our group call tally (bookmark this link!): https://forms.gle/Rd7ABzDdKWqg9KVb9
-CALL voters with a statewide campaign or any other swing-state phone bank that is not affiliated with us, and fill out our call tally when you’re done (suggested phonebanks are inside the link): https://forms.gle/Rd7ABzDdKWqg9KVb9
-Go to the SwingLeft phone-bank hub and sign up for the highest-priority phone bank of the day: https://swingleft.org/p/phone-bank
-TEXT 100 VOTERS on your own with OpenProgress or Indivisitext, and email us if you want personalized help getting set up!: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1fDNw4fLatclshyZrM0JMztoDV2aS-5FVUxpGrkYz7tw/edit?usp=sharing
