This week’s news has the hateful fingerprints of white nationalist White House aide Stephen Miller all over it.
On Monday, the Supreme Court upheld the White House’s so-called public charge anti-immigration policy, which will institute a “wealth test” for test green card hopefuls, and will disproportionately prevent minority immigrants from receiving U.S. permanent residency.
Meanwhile, Tuesday marks the third anniversary of Donald Trump’s first hateful, bigoted, and unconstitutional Muslim ban. It is widely expected that Trump will celebrate the occasion by expanding the scope of the third ban—which our broken Supreme Court approved in a partisan 5-4 decision.
Our elected officials don’t have any immediate power to prevent Trump and Stephen Miller from enacting their hateful agenda, but they do have powerful voices—let’s remind our electeds to use them.

Sample script:
Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I’m calling from {CITY, ZIP}. I am concerned about the effects of Monday’s Supreme Court ‘wealth test’ decision for immigrants, and about reports that the Trump administration may announce a new Muslim ban as soon as today—the third anniversary of his first ban. I would like to hear {ELECTED} speak out today against Donald Trump and Stephen Miller’s anti-immigrant policies. Thank you.
Bonus action: help local non-profits fighting for immigrants

CONTRIBUTE TO THE SWEDISH SOLIDARITY FUND
SEIU Healthcare 1199NW has set up a Swedish Solidarity Fund fund — https://www.swedishsolidarityfund.org — so fellow union members, community allies, friends and neighbors can distribute funds to striking members and their families who are experiencing hardship and in need. Your contribution ensures that striking workers can continue their fight for quality patient care, safe staffing and racial equity for themselves and their patients.
