Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) will expire soon. If renewed, this law has a significant problem by permitting the government to get the content of communications by Americans who are not suspected of any wrongdoing (the so-called “backdoor loophole”). We used to worry about what would happen if this authority fell into the wrong hands… Now it has fallen into the hands of Trump and Sessions.
Today, call your Senators and Representatives, and urge them to ensure the loophole in Section 702 is corrected before 702 is reauthorized.
