There’s no way around it, given Federal cuts, state shortfalls and the upcoming hit to our city budget, Seattle needs new revenue. Councilmember Alexis Mercedes Rinck has put forward the Shield Seattle Initiative, which will raise about $90 million in new progressive revenue annually.
This progressive revenue proposal will lower Business & Occupations (B&O) taxes on small businesses and raise them on large businesses that make over $5.8 million in annual revenue.
Urge your City Councilmembers to vote Yes by August 4th!
Urge them to protect homes, shelter, food access, and more!
Shield Seattle is the solution – tell City Councilmembers to send it to the ballot.
