The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) is a constitutional amendment that would enshrine equal rights for women under the constitution. The amendment has passed in 38 states and passed the U.S. House, but still needs to be ratified by the Senate and have the time limit for states’ ratification removed. If this is going to happen it needs to happen before the next Congress is sworn in.
