AG Barr has more to answer for. While still in the middle of a major controversy regarding the use of force against peaceful protestors, the Attorney General made a controversial move that once again seems to back up the narrative that he is more concerned with protecting President Trump than being the head of an impartial Justice Department.

On Friday, Barr ordered the dismissal of Geoffrey Berman, a federal prosecutor investigating matters close to President Trump. After a brief standoff with the Attorney General, Berman will be removed from his position as head prosecutor for the Southern District of New York. Berman’s team took down President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, in 2018 on charges of tax evasion, bank fraud, and campaign finance violations resulting in jail time. More recently, Berman has been investigating Rudolph Giuliani for possibly violating lobbying laws related to work he’s done in Ukraine.
Already, more than 130 former Manhattan federal prosecutors have signed an open letter condemning the firing of U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman.
ACTION: Call on lawmakers to speak out against these actions and hold Barr accountable.
