The recent horrific chemical attack on civilians in Syria has Trump’s blood up. Let’s make sure our Members of Congress demand relief for Syrian refugees—not a hot-headed military adventure.
Action 1: Demand Relief for Syria’s Citizens: More Refugees Now!
When the Assad regime attacked its own citizens with chemical agents earlier this week, we saw exactly why we need to allow more refugees into the US. The Trump administration, true to form, responded by launching a missile strike without consulting Congress and without mentioning any humanitarian response. Let’s call our MoC’s and tell them to ensure Syrian refugees find refuge here in the US.

“Hi, my name is {NAME}, and I’m calling from {CITY, ZIP}. I’d like to request that {the MoC} respond to the recent chemical attacks in Syria by calling for more refugees to be allowed into the US. The Trump administration’s decision to launch missiles without consulting Congress is yet another example of how the President values bluster over humanitarian action. Can you tell me how {the MoC} will be working allow more Syrians in need to come to the US as refugees? Beyond refugee action, I expect {the MoC} to hold Trump accountable for any unauthorized military actions he might take. Can you let me know how {the MoC} will ensure Trump goes no further with his military adventure?”
